Constellations
The Constellations or grouping of stars as we know them today is knowledge past down to us by the ancients. As we see the stars in the heavens and when the sun has passed below the horizon represents the world of the immortals, everything above the horizon. The Stars are symbols of ourselves from the very place the Sun would currently dwell, the underworld, no longer castings its brilliance, blocked from view to reveal the suns peers or other immortals. Eternally symbolizing to us that we too have no relationship with time and revealing that we are much more than just the image we recognize in the mirror. Those stars such as the Sun that touch the horizon and dip below are immortals that have been reborn onto this place we call the universe. That symbol of you is the Sun leaving our true home and taking on a human understanding to walk among friends and to expand our idea of who we are. Each night we close our eyes and walk among the stars, the sun has gone below the horizon and dwells in the underworld - our genuine nature. Each morning we wake to to find ourselves in a more confined shape and reborn looking at our reflection, cast back upon us by others, to experience more. We live but one life and we do so by way of many shapes and sizes.
LEO. We start with Leo because it symbolizes infinity and chaos (the underworld) the place we emerge from prior to the acceptance of a human apparatus. Its symbolism is inherent to the gathering of potential and forcing it beyond and into corporeal will. Leo is the prospective and is soon subject to the rigors of linear understanding. Leo also characterizes protection of the spirit from that which is not harmonious with our nature . Leo is ruler of the first house in the Zodiac, it represents "me". The first house through the 6th house symbolizes our attachment to the underworld. Leo symbolizes our strength to emerge from the underworld and announces "my will be done". Leo is the lion with impenetrable skin created by a god to kill a god. The gods reside in the underworld using the passage of Leo to gain entrance onto the filed of reality.
CANCER is the ruler of the second house, how we feed our soul from this place of tangible understandings. Cancer is the symbol of fluidic motion a constant cycle of soul and human understand. It represents how we sense ourselves as a reflection of reality. . The second house and Cancer is the beginning of an idea of a closed circuit of understanding or the start of childhood growing into an adult taking that which has no boundaries and placing our spirit into a linear understanding. What we label emotion is that sensory fluid of the conceptions we have of our self that is returned to us by way of emotion. The crab lives in water the symbol of spirit gently surrounding and nourishing itself with the particles of spirit to enhance the soul. Our actions in human form replenish the water with more experience to sustain spirit. Water is a great conductor of electricity; our emotions are driven by chemical electric impulses, no different from the crab living in the ocean we are immersed in the emotion and conception of linear understandings. As soul understands emotion it is a fascination or a method to understand an outcome.
Third is GEMINI and the ruler of the same house, the place where we hear our soul. Gemini is the twin’s duality of self, one twin remains in the underworld while the second implies a residence in reality. Twins have the ability to communicate in ways that are not yet understood. There is no need for words or voice a simple thought osculated as the symbols would suggest, from one to the other. Can you imagine another way to communicate with your self in the underworld than with a copy or reflection of what you understand to be you?
TAURUS the Bull is fourth, ruler of the fourth house and how we replenish our place in reality and how we rest. We only see half of the bull in the constellation once again illuminating the relationship we have with our soul, half here and half not. Taurus is large, heavy but gentle; it shapes or holds our focus on what we comprehend as real. Taurus or the bull was a shape taken by the God Zeus to enter the earth of mortals. The bull eats that which the earth or reality provides in nourishment, grass fed by the Sun’s rays living both in the underworld and rising again each day to reality. The bull grows in size and continues to eat from the earth (reality) molding itself based upon the conceptions of reality. Once the sun falls below the horizon the animal tires and rests upon the earth, leaving its physical side here to walk again among the stars. It takes its understandings of reality with it as you can see in any starry night.
ARIES the ram follows and is the ruler of the fifth house. Zodiac house number five represents new understandings, creative impulses and how the underworld is brought into linear consideration. Aries symbolizes our recognition of the underworld while standing upon earth (reality). Aries draws strength from its place of newness and initiating the ego into a more unyielding and irreversible form. Many myths have always used the lamb to symbolize the giving of self to another in form of sacrifice. Aries however is not just another lamb it bears Golden Fleece. Golden in color is the symbol of knowledge. Aries is our sacrifice to spirit taking upon an ego and sacrificing our hidden awareness. Aries takes the will of the Sun and converts that will into ego, transforming soul into duality, human visible and spirit less visible.
PISCES would follow and is much like the twins of Gemini in the sense of duality. There is a ribbon symbolized in the constellation that forms a knot which in turn holds the two fishes together. That junction is of transition from sprit to human. A bond for the reason we no longer can tell where spirit begins and human ends. We tend to think that we are devoid of soul as we walk our path, but soul surrounds in form of spirit just as the constellation would suggest. Two fish swimming in what seems to be different directions is the illusion that water or sprit plays when looking at the surface to determine what may lie beneath. One fish is the reflection of the other somewhat distorted to symbolize the need to look deeper for spirit. Like the house it rules number 6 it symbolizes the reflection of the whole between soul and body in an attempt to emulate the underworld here upon humankind.
AQUARIUS and ruler of the seventh house is the cup bearer of the Gods. Aquarius symbolizes how soul responds to others and that response is reflected back to us in form of intellectual intimacy rather than emotional. These reflections are integrated into the whole by use of observational comprehension of self by what we observe and perceive as another. More to the point Aquarius symbolizes a separation of spirit from self in the methodology of seeing ones self in another. The seventh house is the first house we associate with reality or that which is thought to be outside our immediate awareness. This is why an Aquarian is considered to be rebellious, cold and detached. The seventh house is the first symbol of the organization of creativity from the realm of underworld not contained in our head symbolized by the continual stream of water pouring onto Pisces. Once again we are reminded of our relationship with spirit by use of the symbol water.
CAPRICORN is next and ruler of the eighth house. It takes this position because of its ability to organize that which is untangled. Once again looking at Capricorn we see duality, the head of a goat well understood as human conception but having the tail of a fish the symbol of connection with soul. Capricorn represents purpose the drive of that which is hidden in the underworld and to be accessed by our humanness. Being the ruler of the eighth house, house of cosmic unity and doorway to the underworld it is no wonder why the ancients chose such a symbol the goat fish to remind us of our relentless desire to achieve a greater comprehension of self bringing in our spirit awareness to reflect it upon a human vessel.
SAGITTARIUS one more symbol of the duality we posses with soul, instead of half the body immersed in water now it takes on the body of a horse and the upper half of that of a human body. This time because Sagittarius rules the ninth house spirit is represented by way of that which we hold close and recite instantly. The duality comes from the long bow strength to hold onto exactness and an arrow always aiming for truth. Sagittarius is but a seeker and sear of truth. Sagittarius aims its arrow at the Galactic center symbolizing soul as a whole. We are now at the point of expansion of our understanding of realty and somewhat dismayed by its illusions. Sagittarius comes in the Constellations at the perfect time to expand our idea of reality yet with the authority of genuineness to break realism down into its elements for an exact understanding.
SCORPIO the radical of the Zodiac represents our resistance to outside understanding. Scorpio is the ruler of the tenth house, house of how reality reflects back at us. As humans we resist that which another may wish to impose upon us but as soul the desire of the opposing forces is a necessary effect not unlike the scorpion that will strike if provoked. Soul desires replacement of old understandings and clears the way of injury inflicted upon us by opposing forces, ego desire and soul desire. Like Leo Scorpio is also interested in procreation of soul into reality.
LIBRA almost certainly implies balance; however there is another school of thought. The symbol is one of a scale a platform to hold something and weigh one idea over another. Libra is more in nature in the utilization of the underworld with realty, adding more to one side or taking something away with the ability to move back and forth from reality to the underworld. Libra is the ruler of the eleventh house; to utilize opposing truth that of ego and that of spirit.
VIRGO is ruler of the last house number twelve. Virgo symbolizes balance in a self corrected sense exhibited in her representation of critical, analytical and desire to reach perfection in so doing demonstrating order to reality. In older mythology Virgo was the last to leave earth and she held the scales in one hand and a sword in the other. Virgo than would bring symbolic closure to human understanding balancing our concept of self with that of soul and holding the sword, symbol of truth our own and distinct truth.
