Planets

sun

Let’s begin with the SUN, not so much a SUN SIGN as much as the whole as it relates to you. Each planet received its origin from the Sun. Each planet then, by way of its beginning, is an aspect of the Sun. The Sun contains all that which is divided into what we refer to as our solar system. Not children of the Sun, but aspects of ourselves related by symbolic meaning as an Element of the Sun. Compassion, attraction, structure and so on are all parts of the whole. The Sun is the whole. When we put its light through a prism and see the different colors of light we commonly refer to as blue, red and green, through the aspect of the Sun the colors are now converted into Venus, Mars, Jupiter and so on and their related symbolisms become ourselves; most importantly our soul. So, the Sun shines its light upon the whole solar system and can not be looked at as one Element. The old adage applies; the cover of the book may be without uniqueness but open it and read the pages and you can now comprehend the whole by way of its Elements and discover that which was hidden from view. The one thing the Sun dictates from an astrologic standpoint is where we begin.

pluto

Next in line would be PLUTO, not because of its relationship to the Sun but by its importance. P Pluto has the mythology of the Lord of the underworld. He is obsessive by nature and will use any means possible at his disposal to gain his desired outcome. Keep in mind, that this is the mythology, not a complete comprehension. What is the underworld you may ask? It is a place so dark and so unpredictable that we do everything we can we can to avoid it; or so we think. The underworld is the realm of spirit and soul. It is devoid of any human conception such as emotion and judgment. Each and every time we close our eyes we enter the underworld. It’s never been described in that way before, but that is where it lies;, very close to where we stand. The symbols for that while our eyes are open is any dark place that makes the hair on the back of your head stand up. We all have them and seldom look deep into the darkness. Pluto is the symbol of that and everything beyond which seems hidden. What lies beyond is chaos, a any and all things that makeup what we perceive as real.

The Sun resides in your chart at the beginning of your embodiment and Pluto reveals the area of separation from the body. Pluto also sets the stage for this embodiment meaning that an area of your life is the theater of comprehension;, anything from an inner conception to a more physical message.

  saturn

SATURN is the director. Saturn determines what elements will be allowed on the stage and who and how things and others interact with those elements. This includes your embodiment. The mythology of Saturn is an oppressor, servant of Karma and King of the Gods. Once again this is not a complete picture of the symbolism. Saturn also provides the structure of how each element and others will play its role in your life. Who will nudge you when and where and in the direction of the desired experience? Will it seem fluid with your surroundings or is it a more drastic push necessary for example. Each and any every nuance has been considered down to the smallest detail by the Sun (your soul) via Pluto.

jupiter

Now that the stage has its props and players, JUPITER determines how they grow and function. Jupiter is Zeus, King of the Heavens and Lord of the Sky. Mythology tells us that Zeus played hard and demanded much. He was placed in the heavens as a symbol of all desire and if not watched over, ravenous to the end. Jupiter determines what gets more attention than another? How fast will it bear fruit or will it spoil on the vine? Jupiter symbolizes great leaps and bounds but is always under the watchful eye of the director, Saturn. Nothing gets by the attention of Saturn. Saturn demands adhesion to the script dictated by your soul and there will be no moving of the river. At times it becomes Jupiter’s quest to work with ease and other times a great deal of patience must be employed.

neptune

Neptune would be the author of the screenplay. NEPTUNE dictates the length of each act and is always testing the patience of Saturn by adding new ideas to the stage. Poseidon is the God of the Sea. Water is the symbol of spirit, a device used to express the soul. Water takes on the form of the container and will mold itself to any shape or idea. Neptune then reveals to us a more tangible aspect of soul, something we can relate to in the human world. Neptune is the device to dissolve boundaries. Jupiter poses a similar symbolic idea but Neptune drives it from a deeper sense of choice than Jupiter. Neptune has a very unique relationship with Pluto and has access directly to chaos; in so doing making anything possible by way of creation. Jupiter takes what is present while Neptune draws its influence from an infinite universe.

uranus

If Neptune is the author, then URANUS would be the unexpected. Uranus desires to turn the stage on its head. Uranus is change, freedom and liberty by way of that change. The planet by way of mythological ideas is Apollo, the God of healing and God of truth. Uranus desires deeply for you to understand your truth. Truth is abstract and is only relevant to the observer. There is no such thing as “THE” truth only “A” truth. Uranus will modify and many will tell you with dramatic consequences conflicting Saturn’s drive for structure. That would be a limited appreciation of the relationship of the Elements to the whole. Change may be perceived as adverse by the traditional methodology, but as your soul well knows change is a necessary aspect to enlarge its satisfaction of this third dimension.

mercury

That leaves us with the three most inner planets. MERCURY, how our mind hears the whispers of Pluto and converts the desire into human meaning, the spoken and written word. Mercury has the task of translating the outer world into symbols and meaning that your soul can comprehend.

venus

VENUS is the guardian of attraction or the magnet of the Zodiac. Venus symbolizes that which Saturn will allow upon your stage. Venus has the directive to help propel an idea forward by redirecting the Suns Rays and how possessions and others will be attracted to your stage. Venus symbolizes the passion of the Zodiac.

mars

MARS symbolizes the engine behind the drive. Many would consider Saturn the disrupter by its mission to follow the script but Mars, left to its own,, would kick sand in the face of a small child in order to achieve its goal. Mars and Jupiter together represent war and conflict between ideas and will drive it to the end. Mars is the device to destroy an idea; to assist the endeavor of each planets symbolic concept and to bring those meanings closer to center stage. Mars and any planet together symbolize a greater attention to purpose or drive with conviction to ensure given ideas. Mars is the side of our nature that is driven by the inexhaustible desire of the soul by way of Pluto and the Sun’s Will.

moon

The MOON is commonly understood as the representative of emotion. The mythology states that the moon symbolizes among other things, riches, victory and wisdom. Another aspect uses the trinity of life - youth, middle age and maturity to symbolize the moons emotional aspect to us. No matter its myths,, the moon controls the water on this planet. It has great strength and is unabated by emotion in its dealings. That makes the moon and Neptune partners in symbols we use to understand the spiritual aspect of ourselves.

The moon has another aspect represented by duality, the NODES. The nodes are also known as the Dragons head and tail. As the concept implies,, the head is that which sustains itself in reality or more simply as how you see divinity. The tail is deep into the underworld and represents how the soul shows itself to you.

Along with planetary symbols there is asteroid mythology as well, mythology attached by identifications given to certain asteroids and hence the myth that travels with it. There are several asteroids each with its own distinction with regards to symbols to understand self. We use 5 because not unlike infinity, the signs can go on and on.

chiron

The first of these planetoids would be CHIRON. Chiron is seen as a symbol of relationships and their components. It has also been described as an asteroid of finance and other mundane methodologies. The mythology of Chiron is something quite different. Chiron was the illegitimate son of a God by way of a forced union. Upon the birth of Chiron, he was abandoned by both parents and left to his own survival. Apollo, god of Art and healing, took in Chiron and taught him everything he knew and taught Chiron compassion. Chiron was an immortal and was wounded by one of his students. He gave his immortality to another so that his own pain that could never heal would leave him forever. Chiron would then symbolize as being the knowledge holder and how you disseminate that knowledge to others.
